Leeloo's Orangerine Genie Bottle Pendant

Brightly orangerine (is that a word? :-), with a mind of her own, energy to spare, Leeloo made everlasting impression all over "The 5th Element"!

Meet my Leeloo, immortalized in this creation of an equally sprightly genie bottle.

Following the traditions of my 2012 line of chainmaille genie bottles, this beauty is just as vibrant and playful, its shape airy and modern, its attitude bold and vivacious!

This brand new genie bottle is built with larger crystals in a streamlined shape.  It features a brilliant Swarovski Artemis crystal in clear AB as the new bottle top, with a large vintage Swarovski Margarita crystal in Topaz AB, a rare find these days!

I upgraded the chamber portion of the genie bottle to a larger yet still delicate chainmaille whirlybird to give the pendant a substantial presence when held in your hand.

At last, but not least, the more slander tassel is now punctuated with trailing crystals at the very end, kicking up yet another level of sparkles and pizzazz!

Leeloo's genie bottle is 2 inches long, over 1 inch wide, plus a 3-inch swaying tassel, hangs on a 32-inch, 2.9 mm, stainless steel curb chain with a mischievous tilt!

Bring home this beauty today!  Let it safe guard your dreams and answer all your wishes!

PawPrints Chainmaille Bracelet

Presenting another new daisykreates' original design in chainmaille:

My PawPrints bracelet!

Although the idea of paw prints is not new, and there are plenty of images symbolizing our love for our critter friends, my PawPrints design is my tribute to all the dogs and cats who have graced our land with their paw prints, and showed us the true path to enlightenment!

This design has been quite a while in the making, tracing back to my original prototype in July of 2012.  It had since gone through several experiments using other chainmaille weaves, but in the end, I came back to the classic Japanese weave for its clarity and manga-like simplicity, because ...

Less really is more!

Made with a variety of sizes and materials of jump rings, my PawPrints bracelet presents my stylized version of paw prints using nothing but round metal rings to achieve the delicate balance between strength and flexibility.

PawPrints bracelet measures at 7 1/4 inches long, 3/4 inch wide, and 3/16" thick; is made with jewelry brass, stainless steel, and bright aluminum jump rings, fastened with a plated lobster claw clasp into the large double rings of the last paw print on the other end.  Very low profile and just the right amount of weight (0.5 oz), ensuring comfortable daily wear on the wrist.

Interested in purchasing this item?  It is available for purchase in my online studio DaisyKreates.com.

Cyberpunk Chainmaille Finger Ring

A challenge is good thing, specially when it comes to reinventing ancient coolness in a futuristic setting: Cyberpunk:-)

A stainless steel chainmaille finger ring, woven in European 4 in 1 on the bias, with brass trim, steel fringes, and blow-in-the-dark beads!  Yes, those beads glow in the dark!  Put them under a bright light source for a minute or so, take it into a dark room, and see the 8 beads (3 in front, 5 at the back) emitting pops of green light, reminiscent of fireflies in mid summer's nights!  Cute and fun!

Unlike most traditional finger rings, my Cyberpunk finger ring evokes motion as the chainmaille strip that forms the ring clearly steps up as it wraps around your finger, with offsetting ends and uneven fringes that are seemingly tapping into the unseen power flowing through the aether.

The inspiration of my design came from a gizmo called The AirMouse.  Ha ha, just as folks tease me about still tightly hanging onto my 7-year-old Palm Treo, I'm not big on the latest electronics, but I am fanatic about all things sci-fi!  Taking cues from the AirMouse (and the hand pieces created by the Ancients of the Stargate stories), my Cyberpunk ring design goes beyond just another mesh-like ring, its shape pointy, its style semi-organic, and its spirits practically out of this world.

It has been a pet peeve of mine that chainmaille finger rings must meet at least two requirements:  durability and comfort.  Let's face it, finger rings get probably the most abuse among all jewelry items.  Given the fact that chainmaille, as we construct them today, uses butted jump rings that are mostly unsoldered, I make my finger rings only with dense weaves, strong materials, and at the lowest possible aspect ratio without losing flexibility.  This ensures the ring will maintain its overall shape under your most daily stresses.

I also want my rings to be comfortable on the finger, not too bulky, not too pokey (well, unless pokey is part of objectives:-)....  Despite of its width, the wall of my Cyberpunk finger ring is less than 2.8 mm thick, that's under 1/8".  It will feel great on any finger that fits!

My Cyberpunk finger ring fits about size 8 1/4; at the widest, it measures 7/8"; on the back of ring, which is the narrower side, it's under 1/2".  The longest fringe is near 3/4" long, the shortest just over 3/8".  It is made of stainless steel, jewelry brass, and glass beads.

Available for order via my online studio DaisyKreates.com.

Joanna's Genie Perfume (Faux) Bottle

My dear friend Joanna wants one of my chainmaille genie bottles in black, not as a pendant, but a treasured trinket that can stand on her own (hence without tassels) in her curio cabinet.  Here's it is!

I won't go into details as to how many failed experiments went through my work bench to allow the bottle to stand up by itself while still holding all the components sturdily in place .....  I even checked through all my vendors, online and local, to no avail.  Mind you, I want only cold connections, no glue, no soldering.

In the end, I was so glad I learned how to wire wrap good:-)

Joanna loved it!  Yay!

Ghenghiz Cohen Chainmaille Bracelet

If you like your jewelry bit more on the weighty side, with a bold yet airy presence, this is the one for you!

Named after the chainmaille weave, Ghenghiz Cohen bracelet is rhythm and fluidity in motion.

The perfect pairs of big and small rings, interlocking one another, forming concentric links that are soothing to the touch, hypnotizing to the eye.

To show off the mesmerizing pattern, I used thick gauge rings in jewelry brass and bright aluminum for a simple outline in the classic gold and silver tones.

This bracelet measures at 8" long, 5/8" wide, and 3/8" in thickness, weighs at just under 1 oz.

It closes with a simple toggle that blends in nicely with the pattern, and it's super easy to put on and take off.

Interested in purchasing this bracelet?  Check it out in my online studio www.daisykreates.com.

Want it in different metals?  Send me a email and I can help you select a suitable combination.

About the materials

Bright aluminum and jewelry brass are both popular metals used in chainmaille jewelry. They are solid metals, so no need to worry about wearing out the surface.  Due to the copper content in jewelry brass, the gold tone will develop into a lovely patina over time when exposed to air and gives the jewelry an old world charm.  But If you prefer your jewelry bright and shiny, slush the bracelet in fresh lemon juice or white vinegar for a few seconds, and watch the tarnish disappear.  Follow with a rinse in clean water, then blow dry thoroughly with a hair dryer at low setting.  That's it, no elbow grease :-)

Chainmaille Rapid Track Bracelet in Rainbow Colors

This is a fun bracelet full of motion and colors!

Rapid Track, a lovely design by Kat Wisniewski of ElementalArt, takes the good old chainmaille weave Barrel to a new level with the addition of beads, allowing the weave to "grow" and "glow", figuratively and literally!

Here is my version of the Rapid Track!

It is also full of colors, but in a mat finish on both the beads and the anodized jump rings.

Thanks to the light weight of aluminum, this bracelet, being at 7 3/4-inch long, will not drag on your wrist.

A simple star toggle lets you put on or take off the bracelet with ease.

Not much else is needed to brighten your day when you put this delightful chain on your wrist!

My Rapid Track bracelet is available for purchase in my ArtFire online studio.

Byzantine Side Knots Bracelet

It has been a while since my last Byzantine chain in its classic form.  That was when my net surfing landed on another one of Scott David Plumlee's ingenious chainmaille designs: the Byzantine Side Knots.

Here is my sincere admiration, done in bright aluminum.

Seven and a half inches long, 1/4-inch wide, with interspersed Byzantine Side Knots, the chain has an unmistakable ancient feel.  The Side Knots are made of two different gauges of wire; the thicker rings define shape of the knots, while the thinner rings flair out and fill the Byzantine "chamber" with delicate threads of wire.

To echo the 3-ring "wings" inside the knots, my Byzantine units for the chain are done in 3-ring connection, instead of the common 2-ring type.

For closure, I hand forged an S hook for its low profile and ease of use, a perfect compliment for the time-tested beauty.

Bright aluminum is a light weight aluminum alloy that is strong enough for chainmaille use, and brightly polished for a clean, crisp shine; no maintenance required.  To freshen up, give it a slush in soap and water, followed by blowing drying with a hair dryer at low settings.

This item is available for purchase in my ArtFire online studio.
