Genie Bottle Necklace with Red Whilybird Pendant

Fiery red, steely and sharp, with unforgettable curves, and unapologetic ambitions.

Meet the newest addition to my line of chainmaille genie bottles:  Caprica, the ever evolving copy of Number Six.  :-)

Inspired by the 2003 re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, my Caprica's Genie Bottle pendant is much bolder and more substantial compared to her older sisters, with larger crystals, more streamlined shape, and a thicker neck chain.

The brand new Caprica's Genie Bottle features a brilliant Swarovski Artemis crystal in clear AB as the new bottle top, and a vintage Swarovski Margarita crystal in light Siam which is an extremely rare find nowadays.

I also upgraded the chamber portion of the genie bottle to a larger yet still delicate chainmaille whirlybird.

The more slander tassel is now punctuated with trailing crystals at the very end, kicking up yet another level of sparkles and pizzazz!

Caprica's genie bottle is over 1 inch wide, 2 inches long, with a 3-inch swaying tassel, and hangs on a 31-inch smooth stainless steel curb chain.

My Caprica's genie bottle necklace can be available for purchase via custom order in my online studio DaisyKreates.com.  Just drop me a note at Contact Me.

Inspirations from the 2003 Battlestar Galactica (BSG)

In late 2010, I started a line of BSG-inspired jewelry items solely as a challenge to myself to create within a theme.

I've been fascinated by the stories of the re-imagined BSG of 2003 and totally enjoyed watching the entire series from day 1.

Starting from the pilot ("Are You Alive?"), on with each episode, I create a piece of daisykreates-original handmade jewelry with inspirations taken from the name of the episode, a line in the episode, a scene, an act, or maybe an idea!

These jewelry pieces are not endorsed by anyone related to BSG, and are not intended to infringe upon any of BSG rights. I'm just an admirer showing appreciation for the best TV program EVER!  If any official BSG representative feels otherwise, please let me know (daisykreatesgmailcom).  The last thing I want from this line is to upset the BSG creation.

Thank you!

A few words of gratitude ....

For a while, I find myself dragging my feet in updating my websites and online shop.  I almost dread finishing a piece of jewelry, because there are so many places to update....

I used to just hold a new bracelet, necklace, or what not, in my hands, admire it, put it on, look in mirror, maybe pat myself on the back, and that's it!  Into a drawer and on to the next project.

Now, there's the picture taking, which is often more work than making the pieces, then the cropping, cleaning up photos, copyrighting, uploading to various sites, writing the descriptions, oh and not to mention the documentation of the material, costing and pricing, updating the inventory, keeping tack of what's used and what's left, when to reorder, from whom, figuring out what just changed in facebook, how to use flickr/shutterfly/picasa, you name it, what to include in my blog, how to attract traffic and customers to the shop, etc., etc., that's a whole different world than just making bracelets.....  Oh and yeah one more thing, and this one is BIG:  More often than not, the tax man/woman wants their cuts, oy!

I hated all of this!  Really wanted to give up selling my work....

Then, from time to time, I get such kind and heart-warming emails from customers who take the extra effort to write to me telling me how much they love my work!!  That makes my day!

I know I've always wanted to make crafts for my own sake, for the joy of creations, the moments when my brain cells make another connection, that's pure pleasure no money can buy!

But I won't lie.  Hearing from happy customers, knowing my babies went to a loving home, that's some very rewarding icing on the cake!

So allow me to say this,

To all who had been there, in one way or another, with or without words, fed my crafting addictions through the years, from the bottom of my heart,

Thank you!!!!

I will continue to make and sell my crafts.  And I hope you will continue to visit my studio.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Peace.

Mobius a la Byzantine

Something about Byzantine that is super versatile, as it is totally mesmerizing on its own.

Inspired by David Scott Plumlee's Tripoli, my Mobius a la Byzantine is more square than triangular.  Somewhat ring hungry, tad finicky too.

But the outcome is fluid and lacy; nothing like the civilization of its name sake! :-)

This one is proudly adopted by my BFF, Sean:-)
Yay!!!
